We fall asleep in one world and wake up in another!
Suddenly, the political cult leads the day; it dictates what we do and what we say.
It tells us what Apps to use and what sites to browse.
‘Thinking’ is a luxury we shall soon not afford.
No more choices, at least not of our own accord.
We fall asleep in democracy and wake up to a dictator!
They call the youths the “leaders of tomorrow,” but WAI, since 83 still rules till today.
How do you expect a coup toppler to be a peace settler?
How do you expect a tyrant to war against indiscipline, poverty, and oppression?
For once, let the truth be known! our leaders are ambassadors of poverty!
We fall asleep in Nigeria and wake up in UAR!
You’ll get the news from an IV drip, for the lies our government feeds its citizens make the bones weak.
Don’t be surprised when you receive notifications from corporations and friend requests from the secret police.
Refuse one or all, it’ll be your fall. EFCC is now the new SARS, so beware!
They’ll delete your name and wipe all the files. Deny any knowledge and bury you under the tiles.
You’ll never be heard from, you’ll never be seen. You’ll never have existed, you’ll never have been.
To the people that endured inhuman congestion, no one worked harder than them.
Yet, most of them were exposed to torture, condemnation, corruption, lies, and fake manifestoes.
They were paid in grief for all they sacrificed to build a better Nigeria.
They say education is key, but without a degree, “Mr. President” presides over 200 million people.
He sits on his high horse while Bernael wreaks havoc on our nation.
Not anymore! The real leaders of tomorrow strap their boots and wear their armors!
We band together against our oppressors, for soon enough they’ll pay for their sins.
And a better Nigeria will emerge from the ashes of those whose greed destroyed our country.
