- Why Her, Not Me?
News broke around that you‘re with her now.
I thought you were just friends,
But I see things differently now.
Everything I begged of you,
You do for her, effortlessly.
Everything I did that made you call me crazy, makes you see the scars in her beauty.
And after all you’ve done
She doesn’t love you as I loved you.
But you’re with her, not me.
So, tell me, why her, not me?

Something ‘bout this man seems so perfect.
Staring at his complexion and his body,
My heart all but stands erect.
He’s not with me, but I’m at peace.
For I know he’s mine, and one day he’ll come around.
This might be strange,
But I’m assured enough to not hide from his grace.
We’re not together now,
But the universe will one day make us stand face to face.
Oh, I’m certain,
And that’s the only thought I’ll entertain
Because there’s something ‘bout this man
That I would like to call mine.
